Research Interests:

• Toxicology of environmental pollutants and other genotoxic agents with emphasis on mechanisms in mutagenesis and carcinogenesis
• Mechanisms in the formation and inheritance of mutations and genetic diseases
• Determination of the importance of changes in DNA 5-methyldeoxycytidine patterns to the physiologic and perturbed processes of embryogenesis, differentiation, aging, and carcinogenesis
• Genetic processes involved in carcinogenesis, aging, and genetic diseases
• Basic research in inherent functions and controlling systems of DNA
• Genetic markers of diagnostic and prognostic value in the clinical care of cancer patients, the prevention (early detection) of cancer, and in biomonitoring of human exposure to genotoxicants
• Environmental biomonitoring of feral species genotoxic exposure
