    Honors and Recognitions

    • Congratulations to Dr. Ed Overton for being selected as a recipient for an LSU Distinguished Faculty Award for 2008. The award recognizes faculty members who have a sustained record of excellence in teaching, research, service, and/or any combination of the three. Congratulations to Ed.

    • Dr. Vince Wilson has recently been appointed by Chancellor Jenkins as the Chair of the LSU Radiation Safety Committee. This “life-long” appointment will stick with Vince for as long as he can stand it.

    New Grants Since Fall 2007

    Based on the School of the Coast and Environment Office of Research Service website (http://www.cceer.lsu.edu/asp_page/new/records.html), since 2004, DES faculty have acquired over $7.3 million external grants as Principal Investigator (this number does not include those grants in which DES faculty serve as co-PI or investigator).
