The Department of Environmental Sciences occupies approximately 22,000 square feet in the Energy, Coast and Environment Building including:
Environmental Analytical Laboratories,
Aquatic/Industrial Toxicology and Remediaton Lab,
Environmental Toxicology and Human Health Issues,
GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Lab,
DES and DOCS Computer Aided Teaching Laboratory,
Instrument Development Laboratory.
All are equipped with state-of-the-art analytical equipment, as well as numerous instruments for specialized environmental research.
In addition, DES has laboratories specifically designed and equipped to perform genotoxicity and biochemical toxicology studies.
All support equipment is available to perform trace organic analyses on various types of environmental samples.
